- Christ confirmed the covenant to Israel during His earthly ministry, then was cut off in the midst of the week. That leaves half a week—three and a half years—yet to be dealt with upon Israel.
- Revelation fixes that remaining period repeatedly:
- Forty-two months the holy city is trodden down (Revelation 11:2).
- The two witnesses prophesy 1,260 days to Israel (Revelation 11:3).
- The woman is nourished for “a time, times, and half a time” (three and a half years) (Revelation 12:14; compare 12:6).
- The beast continues forty-two months (Revelation 13:5).
- Romans 11:25 shows God turns back to Israel after the fullness of the Gentiles comes in, and Jeremiah 30:7 calls it the time of Jacob’s trouble.
