Can Abortion Be Forgiven?

Yes. Abortion is sin, but it can be completely forgiven through the Blood of Jesus Christ when there is true repentance and faith. It is not the unpardonable sin.
2) Scriptural Explanation
- The Bible says, “Thou shalt not kill” (Exodus 20:13). God forms life in the womb (Psalm 139:13-16), and He knew Jeremiah before he was formed (Jeremiah 1:5). So taking that life is sin.
- Yet the same Bible shows that even murderers who truly repent find mercy. David was guilty of adultery and murder, but when he repented, the prophet told him, “The LORD also hath put away thy sin” (2 Samuel 12:13), and David cried, “Wash me… and I shall be whiter than snow” (Psalm 51).
- Jesus said, “All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men” except blasphemy against the Holy Ghost (Mark 3:28-29). Abortion is not listed as the unpardonable sin.
- “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9). “The blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin” (1 John 1:7). Isaiah 1:18 says He makes scarlet sins white as snow.
- To the woman taken in sin, Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more” (John 8:11). That’s His heart—mercy with a call to a changed life.
- Concerning the child, David said of his deceased infant, “I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me” (2 Samuel 12:23). You can’t bring the child back, but by grace you can go to them.

- If the Blood of Jesus cleanses from all sin, then no repentant sinner is beyond forgiveness.
- If God forgave David of murder, He can forgive anyone who has had, pressured, funded, or performed an abortion, when they truly repent.
- Forgiveness requires confession and turning away. You can’t undo the past, but God can make you new, remove the guilt, and heal the heart. There may be earthly consequences, but there is no condemnation to those in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1).
