Can I Worship at Home?

Yes. You can worship at home—and you should. But don’t let home worship replace gathering with the Body when you are able. Do both.

- The Bible says God is not tied to a building. “True worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth” (John 4:23–24). Jesus also said to pray in the secret place (Matthew 6:6).

- The Lord honors small gatherings: “Where two or three are gathered together in My Name, there am I in the midst” (Matthew 18:20).
- The early believers often met in homes (Acts 2:46; Romans 16:5; Colossians 4:15; Philemon 2).
- Yet the Bible also commands, “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together” (Hebrews 10:25). God set gifts and oversight in the church for our maturing (Ephesians 4:11–12; Titus 1:5).
- Ordinances and order are kept when the saints come together (1 Corinthians 11:20, 33; 14:40).

- God is a Spirit, so He meets you in your room, around your table, or with two or three in a living room. That’s real worship.
- But God also joined us to a Body for protection, correction, Communion, and the Word in order. Home devotion keeps the fire burning daily; assembly keeps you in order and under the gifts God placed.
- If you are shut in, distant, or under hindrance, the Lord receives your home worship. Don’t turn inability into independence—keep seeking fellowship as God makes a way.

- Keep a daily family altar: read the Word, pray, sing, and talk it over.
- Set aside the Lord’s Day to gather with a true, Bible-ordered assembly when possible.
- Invite another believer to your home at times; “two or three” still counts.
- Observe the ordinances in the order of the church when you can (1 Corinthians 11).
