Is There Healing in the Atonement?

Yes. Healing is in the atonement. Jesus paid for both sin and sickness when He shed His blood and was striped for us. By His stripes we are healed.

- Isaiah 53:4-5: “Surely He hath borne our griefs and carried our sorrows… with His stripes we are healed.” Matthew 8:16-17 applies this to physical sickness: “Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.”

- The Bible says He “bore” our sicknesses and “by His stripes we are healed.” If He bore it, we don’t have to carry it. Salvation and healing are twin benefits from the same sacrifice.
- Not all are saved though salvation is provided; it must be received by faith. So with healing—it is provided, and we receive by faith in His Word and promise.
- We still live in mortal bodies and await full redemption of the body at the resurrection (Romans 8:23). We are not promised to never die in this age, but we are given healings as a foretaste and token of that coming redemption.
- Sometimes there is delay or a trial, but unbelief limits the manifestation (Mark 6:5-6). Yet the promise stands, and the church is to obey James 5 and believe God’s Word.

Now notice, the same Lord who forgives your sins is the One who heals your diseases. Come on the basis of the blood, confess His Word, be prayed for, and believe. It’s not three remedies or three works—one Lamb, one cross, one covenant—salvation and healing provided together.
