What If I Have Doubts?
1) Direct Answer
Doubts come, but don’t receive them. Bring them straight to Jesus and the Word, confess them, and ask Him to anchor you. Faith is God’s remedy, and faith comes by hearing His Word and being filled with the Holy Spirit.
2) Scriptural Explanation
- The Bible says, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief” (Mark 9:24). He will help the honest heart.
- “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17). Feed on the Word, and faith will rise.
- “Be not afraid, only believe” (Mark 5:36). Fear and doubt are cousins; the answer is believing what He said.
- “He could there do no mighty work… because of their unbelief” (Mark 6:5-6). Unbelief blocks, faith opens the way.
- “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God… but let him ask in faith, nothing wavering” (James 1:5-8).
- “Then opened He their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures” (Luke 24:45). He still does that by the Holy Spirit.
- “Draw nigh to God… resist the devil” (James 4:7-8). Doubt is a dart; lift the “shield of faith” (Ephesians 6:16).
3) Simple Clarifying Logic
- Doubt questions, “Hath God said?” Faith answers, “God has said.” If God’s Word is true, then feelings, fears, and circumstances must bow to it.
- What you feed lives: feed faith with the Word and prayer; starve doubt by refusing its suggestions.
- Obedience brings understanding: “If any man will do His will, he shall know” (John 7:17). Walk in the light you have, and more light comes.
4) Short Reinforcing Steps
- Open your Bible and speak the Word out loud; pray, “Lord Jesus, help my unbelief.”
- Repent of any known sin; stay under the Blood (1 John 1:7).
- Ask to be filled and led by the Holy Spirit (Luke 11:13; John 16:13).
- Test every thought: if it contradicts the Word, reject it.
- Keep fellowship with believers who point you to Scripture and prayer.
Now notice, did doubt ever save a soul or heal a sick body? The Bible shows God honors faith, not unbelief. Hold to what He said, and He will steady your heart. Jesus is the Author and Finisher of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). Only believe.
