- “All scripture is given by inspiration of God” (2 Timothy 3:16). That’s the nature of these writings.
- Jesus recognized the threefold Old Testament—“the law of Moses, the prophets, and the psalms” (Luke 24:44).
- God entrusted the Old Testament to Israel—“unto them were committed the oracles of God” (Romans 3:2).
- The New Testament stands on the foundation of “the apostles and prophets” with Jesus Christ the chief cornerstone (Ephesians 2:20). Even Peter calls Paul’s writings “Scripture” (2 Peter 3:16).
- The warning is clear: do not add and do not take away (Revelation 22:18–19).
3) Simple Clarifying Logic
You see, God vindicated His Word through His prophets in the Old Testament, then came Himself in flesh as the Son, and by the Holy Spirit spoke through the apostles. That finished the foundation. The faith was “once for all delivered to the saints” (Jude 3). If you add books, you contradict the Lord’s own warning; if you take away, you cut from what God has sealed. So the 66 books stand as the full counsel of God.
