Who Is the Holy Spirit?

The Holy Spirit is God Himself—the very Life of Jesus Christ—coming to dwell in and empower His people. He is not a third person; He is the one God in His indwelling office.

- The Bible says, “God is a Spirit” (John 4:24). That’s who the Holy Spirit is—God.

The body that walked in Galilee was the Son; the Life inside was God. After finishing redemption, that same Life came back on the Day of Pentecost to indwell believers. He seals (Ephesians 1:13; 4:30), empowers (Acts 1:8), leads into all truth (John 16:13), quickens our mortal bodies (Romans 8:11), and gives the new birth (John 3:5-8). “Holy Ghost” and “Holy Spirit” are the same—the personal presence of God in His people.
