Will the World End Soon?

Yes and no. The present world system is coming to its end soon, but the earth itself will not be annihilated. The Bible shows an end of the age, a judgment by fire, and then a renewed earth under Jesus Christ’s rule.

- Jesus spoke of “the end of the world” as the consummation of the age (Matthew 24:3). He said we would know the season by clear signs: deception, wars, pestilences, earthquakes, and lawlessness; like the days of Noah and Lot—violence, immorality, and perversion (Matthew 24:4–14, 37; Luke 17:26–30). - Yet the earth itself abides; God laid its foundations so it would not be removed forever (Ecclesiastes 1:4; Psalm 104:5). The “end” is the end of the present order, not the extinction of the planet.
