Will There Be a Literal 1000-year Reign (millennium), or Is It Symbolic?

There will be a literal 1000-year reign of Jesus Christ on this earth. It is not merely symbolic.
2) Scriptural Explanation
- Revelation 20:1-6 repeats “a thousand years” six times, shows Satan bound so he cannot deceive, and says the saints “lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.” The “rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished.”
- Revelation 19 shows His visible coming first; then Revelation 20 follows with the Millennium; then after that comes the White Throne and finally the New Heavens and New Earth in Revelation 21. That’s a clear sequence.
- Revelation 5:10 says He made us kings and priests, “and we shall reign on the earth.”
- Revelation 2:26-27 promises overcomers authority “over the nations” to rule with a rod of iron.
- Matthew 19:28 speaks of the “regeneration,” when the apostles sit on twelve thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
- Isaiah 11:6-9 and Isaiah 65:20, 25 describe earth’s order changed—peace in nature, long life—yet time still counted.
- Zechariah 14:9, 16-19 shows the Lord King over all the earth and surviving nations going up year by year to worship.
3) Simple Clarifying Logic
Now notice, the Bible sets it in order: Christ returns (Rev 19), Satan is bound and the saints reign with Him for a thousand years (Rev 20:1-6), then Satan is loosed a little season (Rev 20:7-10), then the White Throne (Rev 20:11-15), and only after that the New Heavens and New Earth (Rev 21). If the thousand years were only symbolic, why does Scripture tie it to specific events, repeated time markers, and a before-and-after sequence? Why do “nations” go up “year by year” (Zech 14) if it’s not a real time of earthly rule? The Bible says “they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years”—that is literal reign on a renewed earth, the great Sabbath rest after six thousand years of man’s labor.
