What Came First the Chicken or the Egg?

The Bible says God created “every winged fowl after his kind” and blessed them to “be fruitful, and multiply” (Genesis 1:20-22). He made living creatures “after their kind,” with “seed in itself” (Genesis 1:11-12, 24-25). Adam later named the animals already present (Genesis 2:19-20). So God spoke the fowl into being as complete creatures; then they multiplied by eggs.

Now notice: God made the first tree bearing fruit with seed already in it; He didn’t start with a seed only. In the same way, He made the first chicken as a mature creature; then came the egg. An egg requires a bird to lay it and brood it. Creation began with God’s spoken Word producing full-formed kinds, and reproduction followed.
